Joseph Barnett was born in Ft. Knox, Kentucky. He received his BA from St. Johns University and his JD from the University of South Dakota. He was admitted to the South Dakota Bar in 1981, the U.S. District Court for South Dakota, and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Eighth Circuit. He is a member of the Brown County and American Bar Associations, the State Bar of South Dakota, and the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association.

Mr. Barnett's practice areas include Civil Litigation, Workers' Compensation, Probate, Domestic Relations, Collections, Subrogation, and Creditor's Rights.
